FinnyTopia Tycoon
Start with an empty tank, feed and grow your fish, sell them, and unlock new species, plants and tanks with what you earn.
Your Own Aquarium Empire
FinnyTopia Tycoon is an aquarium management game that starts with a single empty glass tank and grows step by step. You buy your first fish, feed it, wait for it to mature, and use what you earn from selling it to unlock more valuable species. It sounds like a simple loop — until ten different species get hungry in your tank at the same time.
The Core Loop
The heart of the game beats in four simple actions: feed, clean, grow, sell. Every fish has its own growth time, food consumption and sale value. A clownfish matures in a couple of minutes for a modest profit, while the species unlocked at higher levels ask for longer waits and more food in return for compounding returns. When a fish gets hungry a food bubble appears above it; ignore it and growth stops. As the tank gets dirty, you need to clean it.
An Economy That Expands
You spend the coins you earn on new fish, plants, corals and decorations from the shop, while gems are there to speed things up. Levelling up unlocks new species — the fish that appear in the shop but stay locked while you are still low level give the game a natural sense of goal. You are not limited to a single tank either: as you progress, new tanks open up and you begin managing several aquariums running in parallel.
A Reason to Come Back Every Day
The daily reward calendar hands out coins and gems across a five-day streak, and the task list gives you concrete goals to chase in every session. The game saves your progress to the cloud, so even if you change your phone, your aquarium is waiting exactly where you left it.
Design Note
The thing we wrestled with most while making FinnyTopia was the balance of the economy. In a tycoon game, progression that is too fast leaves the player satisfied and done; too slow and they walk away. Getting fish prices, growth times and sale values to the right point took many rounds of playtesting and spreadsheet revisions. In the end our goal was simple: a game you can open during a short break and play in peace, with a real business logic running underneath.
